History of the BEC
“Banking Education Center” (BEC) Ltd. was founded in October of 2007. The authore and treiner of training programes is Mr. George Tsutskiridze, Executive Director of Association of Banks of Georgia.
The purpose of BEC is to support educational reform by professional training in banking and financial spheres. BEC is a partner organization of ABG and provides special courses in banking education, which is the synthesis of theoretical and practical education based on the directions of National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
During the last eight month we have trained over 1200 specialists using own developed methodologies and programs. The majority of our alumni successfully work in Georgian commercial banks and credit organizations. At the current moment we realize several programs focused on employment in microfinance institutions, credit unions and financial organizations.
For today the most developing and successful field in Georgian economy is banking sector. During the last year the amount of direct foreign investments into the banking sector composed more than one billion lari. New banks are being opening by means of foreign capital, thus the number of employees gradually grows in this sector. In 2003 in the banking sector were worked 13 thousand employees, nowadays this figure overreached 20 thousand employees.
The Executive Director of ABG Mr. George Tsutskiridze delivers masterclasses in banking education for economic and banking students, persons interested to start working in banks, or increase their qualification and learn banking specificity. The thematic content of education is based on international and Georgian experience – theoretical and practical principles of learning are delivered in the form of interactive study course, which is focused on employment, receiving necessary theoretical and practical abilities for work in a bank.
Except receiving theoretical knowledge in banking we offer tailor-made opportunity, learn and master practical exercises and case composition, bank interviewing tests and abilities, and the most important to receive integrated education on the base of BEC computer classes, according to “Alta” certified operational programmes and 4 study modules on bank’s operational day – credit programme; deposit programme; plastic cards credit programme; accounting of plastic cards and limits delivering programme; clients’ remittances and crediting; foreign currency purchase and sale; registering of amount placement and write off from the correspondent account and etc.
Educational process will be directed by Mr. George Tsutskiridze, active bankers and other experts.
For high educational quality maintenance, we establish two stages testing system during the trainings, with 90% scores limit, and according the results trainees will receive recommendation letter for presenting into the financial and credit organizations. Upon completion of the program trainees will receive BEC certificate of attendance, and to successful trainees we will give advantage to place their CVs in the résumés heading of ABG web page.
Education is fee-based. Fees are in Georgian Lari per person. Trainees will be provided with all necessary training materials.
